Oz Crawl and Cure for Life

The Cure for Life foundation was established by Dr Charlie Teo to help fund advancements in the treatment of brain cancers (such as Sarah's), hopefully leading to a cure someday. "My life has been a rollercoaster since the diagnosis but along with the lows there have been some amazing highs, the biggest of which was meeting and being treated by Dr Teo", she said.

The more money we can raise the higher the chance of the Foundation finding a cure for people like me with this horrible illness. "Eighteen months after being told I may only have three months to live I am still going strong and am so grateful to Dr Teo for extending the time I have with my family and friends", she said.

Sarah's Story

Sarah Mamalai

When 34-year old mother of two Sarah Mamalai survived an operation for incurable brain cancer in May 2007 she was encouraged by her doctors to set herself some goals for the future. She did that and set herself the huge goal of trekking Kokoda to raise funds for brain cancer research.

Sarah achieved her goal and completed the track in May 2008, one year after her diagnosis. She did this along with 13 friends and family. This was not only the adventure of a lifetime but also an opportunity to raise funds for Dr Charlie Teo's Cure for Life Foundation. The group did that and raised the incredible amount of $50,000!
